ABOUT US

Meet John and Rebecca.....

One year John and Rebecca decided to spend Christmas in a place called Ao Nang in the Krabi Province of Thailand. That was a holiday they would never forget....

"As chaos struck in the form of a tsunami, we were extremely lucky to escape with our lives and that was a massive turning point for us. Upon our arrival on Christmas Eve, we booked a canoeing trip for Boxing Day morning and we were really looking forward to it. However, we decided to cancel it right at the last minute because John was experiencing back pain. Thank goodness we did and I think that's the only time we felt grateful for John's incapacity. Apparently only 1 person survived the canoeing trip.....

Our experience of the Tsunami plus the volunteer work we carried out in the Krabi hospital afterwards reminded us just how precious life really is.

The thing is WE SURVIVED and from that point onwards we knew that we absolutely had to honour the gift of life we had in our hands and do more than just survive - we were going to live fully and out loud!

Personal development has assisted us in getting our lives back on track as we experienced all kinds of emotions and confidence knocks after the tsunami. It also assisted us in setting our goals - to understand what we really wanted to achieve in life - and know how to set things in motion to achieve them.

We feel that personal development should be a staple curriculum in every school as it is such a powerful tool that all our children should be benefitting from. So, until this happens, it is up to us as parents to learn for ourselves and pass on this gift.
